TEST YOUR WATER FOR PFAS CONTAMINANTS
WHAT ARE PFAS CONTAMINANTS?
According to the EPA,
“PFAS contaminants such as PFOA and PFOS are fluorinated organic chemicals that are part of a larger group of chemicals referred to as perfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). PFOA and PFOS have been the most extensively produced and studied of these chemicals. They have been used to make carpets, clothing, fabrics for furniture, paper packaging for food and other materials (e.g., cookware) that are resistant to water, grease or stains. They are also used for firefighting at air- fields and in a number of industrial processes.”
WHY SHOULD YOU BE CONCERNED?
According to a study of more than 69,000 people done by the C8 Science Panel—an independent group of epidemiologists, who are scientists trained in gathering information to evaluate whether environmental factors may or may not be causing disease in groups of people—those who had been exposed to higher-than-normal levels of PFAS had an elevated risk of:
- High cholesterol
- Ulcerative colitis
- Thyroid disease
- Testicular cancer
- Kidney cancer
- Pregnance-induced hypertension
YOUR NEXT STEP:
“The most dangerous way that people are exposed to PFAS is through drinking water,” says Don Huber, director of product safety at Consumer Reports.
Find out if you have PFOA and/or PFOS in your water…(we also test for another PFAS named PFNA).
…Have it tested by a professional water testing lab.
We have the equipment and professional lab technicians who can do just that.
Just click the Order button below, and place your order.
We will rush a kit to you. Once you receive the kit:
- fill the 2 vials with water from one of your taps,
- place the vials back into the box,
- put the postage-paid return shipping label on the box and send to back to us.
Once we have completed the test, we will email the results to you.
If you have any questions after you get your test results, we’re here for you.
